Captian Nick Clark’s passing

It’s with sadness that we announce the passing of HCSO Captain Nick Clark on May the 5th of this year. Captain Clark served many roles with the department and served the community in excess of 30 years, most recently as the Captain of the Reserves Unit. Captain Clark will be sorely missed and we are thankful for his commitment and dedication to Hinds County.

Captain Clark had been affiliated with the Hinds County Sheriff’s Office for over 30 years as stated.  He began his career as a Reserve officer quickly working his way to being a part of the Reserve Command Staff.  Nick has been in command of this unit under 4 Sheriff administrations.  Nick created the highly successfulStreet Crimes Task Force Unit in the mid 1990’s creating one of the most elite group of trained officers in the state.  His vision was to have a Certified, Professional Reserve Unit to support every division of the Sheriff’s Office, from Community Service, Detention Service, Patrol, Warrants, Prisoner Extraditions, Investigations and more.  The services he helped provide, saved this county hundreds of thousands of dollars in man-hours.  To make it simple, we could not have run this department at the level necessary without the support of Captian Clark and the Reserve Unit.
